Let’s dive into some important topics.
I believe being a professional Domme, you need to have knowledge about topics like like practical psychology, understanding body language, and a thorough knowledge of human anatomy. Moreover, in the work I do, it’s necessary to be aware of the complexities of gender identities.
Prior to re-entering the world of professional domination, (I was not active for a litte while because I was dealing with health problems and the loss of my son) I made sure to invest significant time into studying these areas, as I aspire to guide my clients as efficiently as possible, enabling them to flourish in the world of BDSM.
Human Anatomy
Over the course of my previous careers in more traditional roles, I gathered a wealth of knowledge on human anatomy. In my past roles, I owned a massage therapy clinic where I treated clients suffering from fibromyalgia, Lyme disease, and sports injuries. Moreover, I worked at archaeological dig sites, where I had the opportunity to study ancient human remains. Such experiences have provided me with profound insights into the human body, which I now apply daily.
Body Language
As a dominatrix, it’s essential to be adept at reading body language, as not everyone is comfortable expressing their boundaries verbally. Individuals may hesitate to communicate their limits due to fear of disappointment or internal shut down. To develop this vital skill, I have read numerous books and taken several online courses. Over time, I have realized that being able to read someone and understand their emotions is a critical skill in my profession.
Practical Psychology
I, as you all know I also work as a therapist/coach. This unconventional pairing of therapy and BDSM might surprise some, but the integration of these two fields has profound psychological implications that are worth exploring.
This is a area where I have spent years educating myself. Growing up in a conservative Jehovah’s Witness household, it wasn’t easy to explore concepts such as BDSM, gender identity, and female dominance. However, I chose to break away from my past and devote myself to my own path.
I do believe a Domme schould have a basic knowlage of practcal psychology.
A ‘Dominant’ figure is a beacon of guidance, nurturing, and safety in the BDSM landscape. They have the great responsibility of steering their submissive clients through their explorations.
In our society, BDSM is often misunderstood and stigmatized, with its practitioners unfairly labeled as ‘freaks’. Yet, numerous studies suggest that individuals who allow themselves the freedom to explore BDSM can grow into incredibly strong characters. That being said, it’s important to remember that like any community, BDSM too has its share of individuals with harmful tendencies. But overwhelmingly, members of this community are wonderful, compassionate individuals.
Life is fleeting, so celebrate who you are. Trust is the cornerstone of BDSM. I strive to create an environment where my clients can openly discuss their triggers and desires. The goal is to embark on a shared journey of BDSM exploration, where I can guide them.
Gender Identity and My Work
This is a realm that unfortunately still faces considerable misunderstanding and prejudice. I believe individuals exploring BDSM and their gender identity are mostly powerful individuals.
I am a gender transformation makeup artist, stylist and coach and also often conduct gender transformations during my BDSM sessions. I offer this service through my non-BDSM businesses, Trans Makeover and Trans Academy and my therapy/coaching business.
As a cis woman, I too experienced doubts about my gender when I was younger. I felt more assertive and strong-willed than many other girls my age, and I was also attracted to women, trans men and women, and crossdressers, even before I was aware of the term ‘pansexual’. When I was 16, I began exploring these subjects, including crossdressing.
As I grew, my feminine side began to dominate, leading me on a journey to embody my ideal vision of femininity. Today, I am content with where I am, and I know that should I wish to embrace a more masculine side, I can always crossdress.
Thanks to my unique experiences, and the knowledge I’ve gathered over the years through makeovers and coaching, I believe I can create a safe space for exploration. Trans Academy also offers guidance on crossdressing and transitioning, teaching about feminine make-up, behavior, movement, and styling. Having worked as a fashion designer, I’ve also used my runway collections to showcase crossdressing models, genderfluid models and transwomen. This required me to study the diverse array of bodies and how to style them femininely.
